Mortgage Link Otago

“Your mortgage may be the most expensive thing you will ever have in your life. I believe everyone should seek independent advice from an expert to make sure their mortgage is designed for their own specific needs.”

For me, joining Mortgage Link Otago in 2002 was a great move. Guiding someone through the process of owning their own home is something I really enjoy. Being able to make a difference was the driving force in becoming an adviser, plus there was the bonus of building a successful business, both of which are extremely rewarding.

I have been a finalist in the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association Broker of the Year for 2006, 2007 and 2008, I have won the Regional award for all 3 years and our office was awarded “Mortgage Link New Zealand Broker of the Year 2007”. This recognition has been amazing and reflects the fact that we work as a team making sure there is always someone there to help you.

I hold a Diploma in the Essentials of Mortgage Advice, continue to update my knowledge through attending lender training sessions, conferences, etc and have been a member of the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association since 2002. Being elected as a representative to the Board of Reference for Mortgage Link NZ for the past 3 years is a great honor allowing me to voice the opinion of all brokers to the board of Mortgage Link NZ.

Getting a mortgage can be stressful and not something you do everyday. Our aim is to make the process as smooth as possible for you by using our knowledge to make sure your mortgage meets your needs, working with you for the life of your loan to help you pay your mortgage off in the least possible time, therefore save you thousands of dollars or to achieve whatever your goals may be. When a client returns or refers a friend or colleague we know we have achieved our goal.

Each client we deal with is unique and each situation different however recently a client had been advised by the bank that there would not be a problem with getting finance to purchase a property so had made and unconditional offer with settlement in 2 weeks. You can imagine his dilemma when the bank was unable to provide finance leaving him in the unenviable position of not being able to complete the purchase and possibly losing his deposit. His solicitor suggested he contact us and after meeting up with him we were able to see where the problem was and with other lenders available we were able obtain finance to complete the purchase with no difficulty; we have even been able to secure funding for renovations to his property.

My interests include spending time with family and friends and living on the Taieri is great for walking the dog, cycling and the odd game of golf. Sponsorship of the local cricket and golf club is a great way to put something back into the community.
