I joined Mortgage Link in 1996 when my main focus became residential lending. It was about this time that New Zealand banks became increasingly active in accepting and encouraging business from brokers. I consider myself to be one of the pioneers of residential broking.

Prior to this I worked for 10 years, predominately as a commercial broker and before this, I held positions with several prominent banks and finance industry related companies over a period of 23 years.

My reasons for joining Mortgage Link were simple. I identified that in order to obtain better recognition from lenders and provide my clients with better than normal finance packages, it would be necessary to join forces with a major NZ mortgage broking group. Mortgage Link allows me to do this.

It has been very satisfying to see the growth of the group over the past 12 years, due to the hard working and professional approach of our business owners and support staff, backed by an excellent Board of Directors and astute management.

My mainstream lending is residential. However, commercial finance, and equity release lending is becoming increasingly important within Mortgage Link. My focus is on providing existing clients with ongoing advice and service. This leads to referrals which contribute to the continuing growth of our business.

Away from the office, I get a lot of pleasure following the progress of my grand children, aged 9 and 6. On a regular basis I help lead the walking bus to and from Browns Bay Primary School.

A bit of golf and tennis, plus the occasional bike and swimming race keeps me on the go. Travel, in New Zealand and Europe, with my wife, is ongoing.
